– How is it structured (star or snowflake)?
– Types of data: flows and dimensions

> Structuring databases:

– Defining functional needs
– Transforming relational database into multi-dimensional (decisional) databases
– Defining the structure of a decisial database: fact table, dimensions, relations, structure (classic and vector)
– Technical steps and project management
– Data receipt
– Documentation, saving and data tagging
– Stakeholders roles and responsibilities

> What Finance should know about functional specifications

– Understanding relations between fields, indexation, and search keys
– Knowing data sources, business rules for calculation and data storage and access
– Making sure the model meets initial problem (sandbox approach)
